Create a make-up look that could outshine even the brightest firework.

Bonfire Night Make-up Tips

Before we start getting into the Christmas spirit, it’s time to add some much needed sparkle into our beauty routines.

Bonfire night is the last big celebration before December hits so why not go all out and enjoy creating a make-up look that could outshine even the brightest of fireworks? These looks are all about vibrant lips, shades, glowing skin and of course lots of glam.

To start with you need to get the basics right and that means flawless skin. As bonfire night falls in November, the weather can be a little bit harsh on the skin. We opt for an antioxidant rich foundation like Genie’s Nutratanicals. Enriched with jojoba and vitamin E, it evens out redness but also keep our skin from feeling or looking dry. It’s moisture in a powder texture gives us a full coverage, natural, moist-looking finish.

Mix & Match Blushes/Bronzers For The Eyes

Once the skin is perfected you can start to experiment with other areas of your make-up, like the eyes. To get in the festive spirit and to reflect the sparkling firework showers in the sky, you can’t go wrong with a bit of colour. Before you write off this trend, Lord & Berry’s Powder blush is perfect for adding a pop of colour to the cheeks but we can’t help adding them to our lids too. The colours range from an autumnal Cinnamon to bright pink Camellia and make a great first base for our lids.

It’s time for sparkles! Depending on your preference, you can go for a little or a bold stoke on the eyelids. If you want to go all out this bonfire night, you’ll need to go bold on the lid and apply less as you go towards the brow. Our favourite Judith William’s Baby Blush or Bronzer, is the perfect cover for the entire eyelid. These both boast rosy gold hues and add a much-needed bit of glamour to your night.

Vibrant Lips

If you prefer to keep the attention on your lips then forgo any eye shadow and opt for a popping lip colour. Any colour that suits your skin tone will do, but if you want to stay on trend then you can go for deep and brick reds. Lord & Berry’s Vogue Lipstick has an extraordinary matte formulation with a velvet-like feeling making them perfect for bonfire night. We like to gently pat the colour over the lips and blend with your finger for a sheer approach that adds just a hint of colour without being too standout.

Get Million Dollar Looking Eyes

The annoying thing about bonfire night is that your make-up is put under pressure by cold winds, which can make your eyes watery. This time of year can sometimes bring out the odd unwelcome downpour, so you’ll need to prepare with a water resistant mascara. As no make-up look is complete without lashings of mascara, it’s the perfect time to try Genie’s Million Dollar Lash Kit. This kit comes with a lash booster to prime and condition the lashes first. Its companion, the million-dollar mascara visually adds volume, length and thickness to dramatically transform lashes from drab to fab.
